Wilsona School District Rings The Bell

San Diego – Lake Los Angeles Wilsona School District was awarded the highly coveted Golden Bell Award at a statewide educational/training meeting held in San Diego this week.

Pictured with the cherished bell are Dr. Susan Andreas-Bervel, Superintendent, Trustee Vladimir Gomez, Trustee Ann Misicka and Trustee Victoria Green.

Trustee Vladimir Gomez said of the honor, “Our Wilsona School District was awarded a Golden Bell Award. This award goes to everyone in our district for all the hard work and dedication to our students and the community. Antelope Valley this is for you too, representing our community of Lake Los Angeles.”

The California School Boards Association (CSBA) Golden Bell Awards® promote excellence in education and school board governance by recognizing outstanding programs and governance practices of school boards in school districts and county offices of education throughout California. Golden Bell Awards reflect the depth and breadth of education programs and governance decisions supporting programs that are necessary to address students’ changing needs.

There are 20 Program categories from Alternative Education to Technology Innovation and everything in the between.

CSBA is the nonprofit education association representing the elected officials who govern public school districts and county offices of education. With a membership of nearly 1,000 educational agencies statewide, CSBA brings together school governing boards, and administrators from districts and county offices of education to advocate for effective policies that advance the education and well-being of the state’s more than 6 million school-age children. A membership-driven association, CSBA provides policy resources and training to members, and represents the statewide interests of public education through legal, political legislative, community and media advocacy.
