Traffic Signal Coming

Santa Clarita – During the North County Transportation Coalition (NCTC) April 17 meeting, an item listed in the projects of the North County included a traffic signal to be installed at the Intersection of 50th Street East and East Avenue N and is labeled as project #371 Palmdale.

At the moment the project is in the design stage, which is complicated and involves a long list of engineering tasks. The cost is estimated at $735,000. Construction start date is planned for the summer of 2025 with estimated completion summer of 2026. The funding source is SB1. The design may include left hand turn signals.

This intersection has extremely heavy traffic day and night and is especially heavy when the shift changes take place at the plant. Flooding and debris flow was also an issue this year.
