Senior programs at Sorensen Park

Lake Los Angeles – Regina Bradley, Recreation Services Supervisor, Stephen Sorensen Park said there will be more senior programs at the park and there is. Starting in April there are two greatly beneficial additional activities especially designed for seniors.

1. Starting April 19, inside the gym, each Tuesday and Thursday at 12:00 noon, an older adult physical activity class is being offered. It is called “Walking with Ease”. This program is being sponsored by The County of Los Angeles Parks & Recreation, CalFresh, Los Angeles County Public Health, The Institute for Community Health and Well Being and The Marilyn Magaram Center for Food Science, Nutrition and Dietetics of CSUN.

No matter if you need relief from arthritis pain, need to improve your balance, are diabetic or have some other health issue where walking would be a help, or just want to be active, you can benefit from this program.

2. On Friday, April 22 starting at 10:00am until 11:00am, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health will host a Nutrition Presentation especially designed for seniors.

No registration is required. You just come to the park and enjoy.
