Lake Los Angeles - The Community Closet is located at The SBCC Center @ Wilsona located at 41625 170th St E, Lake Los Angeles. The cross street is M-8.

It has been in operation for several months and the acceptance by the community and its success has been gratifying and proof that there is a need for this and an opportunity to serve the community.

The Closet is here to support Wilsona School District families and families of the surrounding southeast Antelope Valley communities and beyond. The purpose is to provide family and maternal support to all.

Pictured is Ms. Ludy Huezo who is in charge of the Closet showing a lovely formal gown recently donated. From formal wear to slippers, the choices are wide and varied. The range of clothing is clearly labeled as to size, children’s, infant's, men’s and women’s choices.

Volunteers make it happen. Two ladies who are talented and dedicated volunteers have performed miracles sorting and displaying the merchandise and making the shoppers experience pleasant and easy. To inquire about how to volunteer call Ludy on 661-486-1469. Volunteers are welcome.

To access the Community Closet and enjoy a shopping experience, please make an appointment. An appointment is necessary. An appointment assures the family’s privacy and a full hour to select. Each family can enjoy a once-a-month shopping day. 661-200-5535

Children should be present to ensure size, etc. are correct. Dressing rooms are available. All items are at no charge. An ID such as a school ID or driver’s license is mandatory for every family member not present.

The Community Closet is open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00am to 4:00pm. The last appointment scheduled is at 3:00pm to accommodate the 1-hour appointment. The Closet closes at 4:00PM. 661-200-5535

The closet is looking for more donations such as hygiene items, laundry detergent, toothbrushes and toothpaste, etc. These items are in short supply at the present. Corporate sponsors are being contacted.

For those who would like to donate their gently used and clean clothing, shoes and hangers, etc., please make an appointment to deliver your contributions.
