Safe and Sane Fireworks Go On Sale In Palmdale June 28 to July 5th 2024

Palmdale, CA.-The City of Palmdale has announced that Safe and Sane fireworks booths will be open from June 28 to July 5.
The booths, run by nonprofit organizations, are the only authorized locations for residents to purchase fireworks for upcoming Fourth of July celebrations. Residents are reminded that only Safe and Sane fireworks are permitted in Palmdale, except in designated No Fireworks Zones.
“Public safety is our top priority,” said Palmdale Mayor Austin Bishop. “We want everyone to have a fun and safe Fourth of July celebration by following the rules for Safe and Sane firework uses.”
The City of Palmdale Public Safety Department and Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department will be out in force to curb the use of illegal fireworks in Palmdale and to ensure community safety. The fines for using illegal fireworks in Palmdale start at $2,500 for the first offense, $5,000 for the second offense, and $10,000 for the third offense. These fines are cumulative and may result in fines totaling $17,500 and possible criminal charges.
Safe and Sane fireworks, which bear the seal of the California State Fire Marshall, and may only be used in incorporated Palmdale from noon on June 28 through noon on July 5. No fireworks of any kind, including those marketed as Safe and Sane, are permitted in the Anaverde development, areas south of the California Aqueduct and the following designated “No Fireworks Zones:”
· South and west of Rancho Vista Blvd., North to Avenue N-8
· South and west of Avenue N-8 from Rancho Vista Blvd. to 55th St. West
· South of 55th St. West to 60th St. West (Godde Hill Rd.)
· West of 55th St. West
In addition, no fireworks of any kind are allowed in any unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County, including county pockets within Palmdale city limits.
“Fireworks can be incredibly dangerous, and we urge our community to recognize the risk,” said Mayor Pro Tem Richard J. Loa. “To protect our residents and property, we will strictly enforce regulations across Palmdale. Celebrate safely using Safe and Sane fireworks or by attending one of our professional shows.”
