Nominations are open for the 2024 Veteran of the Year award.

PALMDALE – The City invites nominations for the Tom Hilzendeger Veteran of the Year Award which aims to honor a veteran’s exceptional bravery, dedication, and sacrifice regardless of rank or service branch, emphasizing those individuals who demonstrate a readiness to contribute to their county and community through selfless service.

The recipient will be announced during the City Council meeting on May 15, 2024.

To be eligible, nominees must meet the following requirements:

• Be a resident of the Antelope Valley.

• Must hail from one of the following branches: Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, or National Guard.

• Be active, honorably discharged, or retired personnel of the United States Armed Forces.
