Juneteenth Celebration Planned at Poncitlán Square


PALMDALE – The AV Black Chamber of Commerce, City of Palmdale and Future Leaders of California invite you to our Juneteenth Weekend Culmination Celebration on Monday, June 19 from 11 am to 3 pm at Poncitlán Square, 38315 Ninth Street East.


Adopted in 2021, Juneteenth is the newest U.S. federal holiday. Join us to learn about the history of Juneteenth, celebrate the freedom it represents, and enjoy live music, entertainment, a car show, community resources, and family fun. The event and activities are free, including a Juneteenth themed Paint & Sip, game truck, lawn games, story time and face painting.


City administrative and business offices, Legacy Commons for Active Seniors, all community pools, SAVES and Palmdale City Library will be closed on Monday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth. DryTown Water Park will be open for holiday hours from 11 am to 6 pm. City offices will return to regular business hours on Tuesday, June 20.

Many City services are available online 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Parking and administrative citations may be paid online at www.cityofpalmdaleca.gov/Citations. Business licenses may be paid online by visiting www.cityofpalmdaleca.gov/BusinessLicense.Residents may order Library materials online and access services such as Homework Help and eLibrary at www.cityofpalmdaleca.gov/Library.
