Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!

Lake Los Angeles – At Vista San Gabriel Elementary School, The team from Wilsona Save the Children held a book handout to 696 students at the school on Thursday, March 2, 2023.

Pictured is Jacqueline Guillen, Dulce Morga, Silvia Sandoval, Amelia Escobar and Amelia Miranda, the ladies that make things happen!

The books were plentiful and donated to Wilsona Save the Children from several sources that brought together diverse writers and illustrators from the United States. The books were all high-quality hard cover. Amongst the many titles was Millions of Maxes by Meg Wolitzer, There’s a Rock Concert in My Bedroom by Kevin and Danielle Jonas, The Tooth Book and I am Horton by Dr. Seuss, The Giggles are Coming by Christopher Eliopoulos, flash cards, sight words cards, Little Mice which is a free sing-along app in both English and Spanish and many more choices.

Each student received a backpack or a STEAM bag to carry their books, gifts and construction paper. Each class stopped to have their class photo taken in front of the bus with Cat in the Hat played by Silvia Sandoval. The students could use their books in their classroom but when school is over today, they take their books home to add to their personal libraries.

Every classroom produced a chorus of ‘thank you’ for the many books and gifts they received today.
