Free Christmas tree disposal events Jan. 11 for unincorporated residents
Palmdale, Ca.- Residents in unincorporated areas can dispose of Christmas trees for free Christmas trees on Saturday, Jan. 11 at Los Angeles County Public Works road yards in Littlerock, Quartz Hill and Lake Los Angeles.
The tree disposal events will be 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. (or until the bins are full) on Saturday, Jan. 11 at Public Works Road Yard 558 at 8505 East Ave. T in Littlerock; Public Works Yard 555 at 17341 East Ave. J in Lake Los Angeles and Public Works Yard 551 at 4859 West Ave. L-12 in Quartz Hill.
The event is for the disposal only of natural holiday trees, free of ornaments, lights, tinsel and stands. It is not for disposal of artificial trees, green waste, trash, furniture, hazardous materials, paint or oil.
THIS EVENT IS ONLY FOR RESIDENTS OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY UNINCORPORATED AREAS. The events are not open to residents who live inside the city limits of Lancaster and Palmdale, or who live in Kern County.
Unincorporated areas include Lake Los Angeles, Quartz Hill, Antelope Acres, Hi Vista, Llano, Pearblossom, Sun Village, Littlerock, Valyermo, Acton, Elizabeth Lake, Lake Hughes, Green Valley, Roosevelt, Agua Dulce, Fairmont, Neenach, Three Points, Leona Valley, Desert View Highlands and Juniper Hills.
Proof of residency in an unincorporated area, such as a driver’s license or utility bill with address, will be required.
The tree disposal event is sponsored by the Antelope Valley Illegal Dumping Task Force, Los Angeles County Department of Public Works and Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger.
