Flag Sales Begin for Palmdale’s Field of Honor Display

PALMDALE, CA — The City of Palmdale, in partnership with the Palmdale Auto Mall, is excited to announce that flag sales for the Field of Honor will begin Tuesday, March 4, at 10 a.m. This inspiring and vibrant display of red, white and blue invites community members to purchase flags to honor veterans, active-duty military personnel, first responders and loved ones, celebrating their service and sacrifice.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to participate in a powerful and heartfelt tribute,” said Mayor Richard J. Loa. “Every flag carries the spirit of someone special and the meaningful story behind their service.”
This year, the City is adding new flags to the collection: Thin Blue Line to honor law enforcement and Thin Red Line to commemorate firefighters and firefighter/paramedics. Visitors will witness a breathtaking sea of 1,000 flags as they proudly wave at Pelona Vista Park. This powerful display will be open to the public Wednesday, May 21, at 6 a.m. through Monday, May 26, 2025, at 10 p.m.
Proceeds from the sales will benefit local Veteran organizations including Vets 4 Veterans, Coffee 4 Vets, Point Man AV, VFW 3552, American Legion 348, VFW 3000, Antelope Valley Veterans Community Action Coalition and AV Boots on the Ground Alliance.
“This field is a powerful way for our community to honor and remember the sacrifices of our heroes,” said Mayor Pro Tem Laura Bettencourt. “We encourage all to participate and join us for this honoring display.”
A Memorial Day Ceremony will be held on Monday, May 26, 2025, at 11 a.m., to unite in reflection and pay tribute to the brave men and women who have served our nation.
