Experience the Magic of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at the Palmdale Playhouse

PALMDALE, CA — The City of Palmdale is excited to announce that the wonderful world of Willy Wonka is coming to the Palmdale Playhouse stage on multiple dates, beginning Fri., March 28 at 7 p.m. Join young Charlie Bucket and four other golden ticket winners as they embark on a life-changing journey through Wonka’s world of pure imagination, featuring the magnificent chocolate room, nutty squirrels and the great glass elevator.

 

“I’m excited to experience the magic of this production and see the story come to life on stage,” said Mayor Richard J. Loa. “Once again, the Playhouse showcases its wonderful imagination, fantasy and adventure.”

 

Based on Roald Dahl’s beloved novel, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory comes to life with creative talent from Palmdale Repertory Theatre and an original score by Marc Shaiman, lyrics by Scott Wittman and Marc Shaiman and book by David Greig. The musical also pays homage to the classic 1971 film with memorable songs by Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley, including “Candy Man,” “I’ve Got a Golden Ticket” and the timeless “Pure Imagination.”

 

“The Playhouse never ceases to amaze with their incredible performances,” said Mayor Pro Tem Laura Bettencourt. “The Playhouse has a bright future for our City’s youth, and I am excited to see the stage filled with whimsical enchantment.”

 

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will appear exclusively at the Playhouse, located at 38334 10th St. East, on: 


  • Friday, March 28 and April 4, at 7 p.m.

  • Saturday, March 29 and April 5, at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. 

  • Sunday, March 30 and April 6, at 1 p.m.
