LOS ANGELES, CA - The Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control (DACC) is notifying our Los Angeles City and County partners until April 30, 2025 operations may be impacted due to the SEIU 721 strike.

With a reduced number of staff on duty, we anticipate that services may be disrupted during this time.

Residents may experience delays in several services, including public adoptions, reclaiming pets, purchasing or renewing pet licenses, and telecommunications. We appreciate your understanding as we work through this challenging period.

Despite these limitations, DACC’s animal control officers will continue to respond to emergency calls, which include but are not limited to incidents involving injured animals, ongoing bite incidents, and requests for police, sheriff, and/or fire assistance.

Chief Deputy Director Danny Ubario stated, “Our commitment to public safety and the well-being of animals remains our top priority, even during this strike. We will do everything possible to maintain essential services and restore operations to full capacity as quickly as we can.”

We thank you for your continued support and collaboration as we navigate this situation. For any questions or further information, please do not hesitate to reach out to our office.
