City of Palmdale Fourth Annual Women’s Symposium

PALMDALE, CA — The City of Palmdale is thrilled to invite you to the Fourth Annual Women’s Symposium, set to take place on Sat., March 22, from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Legacy Commons, 930 E. Ave. Q-9. This year’s event, themed “March Forward,” celebrates resilience, progress and allyship, and offers an inspiring platform for women of all backgrounds to come together, share experiences and empower one another toward a brighter future. The first 200 attendees to register will receive a special prize, so don’t miss out on this opportunity to connect and grow!

 

This year’s keynote speaker, Carla Corona, is a prominent figure in youth development and arts education. With over 15 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, Carla has worked with several large-scale national organizations. She has been an influential project manager dedicated to young people, arts and education. She currently holds the Board President position for the Antelope Valley Union High School District, making history as the first Latina to be elected. Carla also serves as a faculty member in the Theater Arts department at Antelope Valley College and is a lecturer at Cal State Bakersfield’s Antelope Valley campus. 

 

“Carla’s dedication to youth development and community empowerment is truly inspiring. We are honored to have her as our featured speaker,” said Mayor Richard J. Loa. “She is the perfect representation of this year’s theme, ‘March Forward’, reminding us of how far we’ve come in championing women’s rights and how much further we can go when we support each other in unity.”

 

The symposium is completely free and open to everyone and will feature a variety of resource tables, informative workshops and exciting raffle prizes, making it a must-see experience for all attendees.
