Palmdale, CA. -The Antelope Valley Jazz Project is a performance ensemble dedicated to celebrating jazz music in its entirety, and often culminating the diversity of various genres including swing, bebop, Latin Jazz, funk, rock and roll, and soul.

Assembled by musicians who often carry interchangeable parts throughout a wide range of performance venues and gig opportunities, the Antelope Valley Jazz Project showcases artists coming from the Antelope Valley, Los Angeles, and even the Bay area.

All of these artists, in fact, are currently pursuing a higher-level education from various institutions for both academics as well as the performing arts including Antelope Valley College, Santa Monica City College, the University of California Los Angeles, California State University of Northridge, and San Francisco Conservatory.

This ensemble provides entertainment for various non-profit organizations, community outreach events, and various other venues dedicated to servicing the socioeconomic, educational, and political betterment within the Antelope Valley.

The ensemble can accommodate any given environment for stage presence, and shift from playing in a combo-orchestra to playing in a more condensed setting including a duo, trio, quartet, or quintet.

Antelope Valley Jazz Project has had the privilege in playing for:

• 2022: Salva Festival (trio setting)

• 2023: Heights of Greatness Leadership Institute (duo setting)

• 2023: Antelope Valley Youth Build Summer Festival (quartet setting)

• 2023: City of Palmdale Trunk or Treat Festival (trio setting)

• 2024: Cesar Chavez Day Festival (quartet setting)

• 2024: Chamber of Commerce event hosted at AV Fairgrounds (quartet setting)

• 2024: Antelope Valley Winery (duo setting)

This ensemble was developed by the interests of drummer and percussionist Cruz Anthony Herrera to solidify a safe haven for promoting the art of jazz performance, ethnic diversity, as well as cultural embracement; future aspirations with this ensemble involve branching out into other entities and communities beyond the Antelope Valley in order to embark on more performance and recording based opportunities. This ensemble plans to reach out to other platforms for networking and venue opportunities, allowing for even more musicians to be showcased throughout a vast majority for California.
