Antelope Valley Family YMCA Presents Healthy Families Day on May 11th, 2024.

LANCASTER, CA, -The Antelope Valley Family YMCA is excited to announce its annual Healthy Families Day event, taking place this Saturday, May 11th, 2024, from 10 am to 1 pm at the AV Family YMCA located at 43001 10th Street West, Lancaster, CA 93534. This free community event aims to bring together families and individuals to celebrate healthy living and showcase the various resources available in the Antelope Valley.
Healthy Families Day 2024 promises to be a fun-filled event for all ages. Attendees can enjoy YMCA-led activities such as volleyball tournaments, STEM projects, tie-dye crafts, sports games, cardio dance and yoga. The event will also feature a chili cook-off, a BBQ fundraiser, and a baby supply giveaway.
"We are thrilled to host Healthy Families Day once again and bring our community together to promote healthy lifestyles and showcase the incredible resources available in the Antelope Valley," said Cynthia Lathrop, Executive Director at the Antelope Valley Family YMCA. "This event is a testament to the Y's commitment to strengthening our community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility."
The event will feature a variety of community partners, including AV Medical Center offering "Stop the Bleed" training, Power of Sight offering glasses, and much more. Attendees can also enjoy delicious food from local food trucks, such as Izzy's Tacos, Churro, and Kona Ice.
Alexa Trujillo, Community Relations Associate for RIDE and Healthy Families Day Committee Chair, added, "Healthy Families Day is a fantastic opportunity for our community to come together, learn about the resources available to them, and have a great time while doing so. We are proud to be a part of an event that promotes the well-being of our families and helps build a stronger, healthier Antelope Valley."
