Two people arrested in Wasco for several pounds of methamphetamine, child endangerment
On Sunday, August 11, 2019, at approximately 11:50 p.m., deputies from the Wasco City Substation conducted a traffic enforcement stop at Highway 46 and Maple Avenue.
The driver was identified as 36- year-old Juan Bello of Wasco and the passenger was identified as 32-year-old Norma Najera of Wasco. Deputies searched the vehicle and located two pounds of suspected methamphetamine and evidence of drugs sales.
Deputies obtained a search warrant for Bello’s and Najera’s apartment in the 600 block of North Maple Avenue. Deputies searched their apartment and located an additional two pounds of suspected methamphetamine, one gram of suspected cocaine, 11 pounds of processed marijuana, evidence of narcotics sales, approximately $6,700, four handguns and a rifle. Two children under the age of eight were also located inside the residence. Bello was charged with possession of methamphetamine for sale, transportation of methamphetamine for sale, possession of a controlled substance, possession of an untraceable firearm, operation of a drug house, child endangerment, and possession of an open container while driving. Najera was charged with possession of methamphetamine for sale and child endangerment. Both were booked into the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Central Receiving Facility.
