VIDA Academy is currently accepting applications for the fall class.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Vital Intervention Directional Alternatives, or VIDA, Academy is currently accepting applications for the fall class. The 16-week class will start on August 17, 2019 and will graduate December 7, 2019.
The VIDA Academy is designed for “at-risk” youth between the ages of 11 and 17 ½ to learn how to make better life choices and take responsibility for their future. It is meant to redirect teens with issues such as defiance, anger, failing grades, truancy, family discord and substance abuse. The VIDA program incorporates physical fitness training, impulse control, life skill training, emotional management techniques, parent-teen and conflict resolution. Participants are referred to the program through the Juvenile Courts, schools or by their parents.
If you think you might have a youth who can benefit from such a program please visit www.vida.la or call 661-949-6585 in Lancaster or 661-265-8910 in Palmdale.
