Community residents and local leaders attended a rally and vigil in front of Congresswoman Katie Hill Palmdale office Friday night, demanding the end of detention centers used to house migrants.
Many spoke about bringing awareness to the humanitarian crisis taking place at our U.S. southern boarder detention camps.

Immigration lawyers who inspected several detention facilities in Texas lastweek , without soap or toothbrushes, without diapers or clean clothes, sleeping on cold floors with the lights on all night.
Reports of sexual assault and abuse in these detention facilities. In the past year alone, at least seven children have died in detention camps.
The action was part of a national movement that included similar protests and vigils in hundreds of cities across the U.S.. The vigil was organized by the ACLU Antelope Valley Chapter.
