Barger announces approval of High Desert Mental Health Urgent Care Center to serve Antelope Valley c
LOS ANGELES COUNTY – The Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a motion by Supervisor Kathryn Barger to move forward with the High Desert Mental Health Urgent Care Center project – a first-of-its-kind 24/7 mental health clinic in the Antelope Valley. “This new state-of-the-art facility will provide our Antelope Valley residents with access to high-quality, low-cost mental health services including diagnosis, treatment, referrals, case management and crisis intervention,” Barger said. Set for construction on the existing High Desert Regional Health Center in Lancaster, the 9,000-square-foot facility will feature nurse stations, therapy rooms, and offices offering critical services and care for adults and children with mental health needs on an outpatient basis. This project’s sustainable design features will ensure efficient water and electricity use.
