Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a robbery at Murray Family Farms.

At 11:20am on June 7, 2019, the Kern County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a robbery at Murray Family Farms on the 6700 block of General Beale Rd. Deputies learned the suspect tried to rob the business, and assaulted an employee with a large stick. When deputies arrived, they found the suspect armed with pruning shears. The suspect didn’t respond to deputies’ commands. Deputies used less-lethal force to bring the suspect into custody. He is being treated at a hospital as a precaution, and then will be booked into the Central Receiving Facility. 25-year-old Juan Moreno will face charges including robbery, resisting arrest, and assault with a deadly weapon. The employee declined medical attention.
