SCV Sheriff’s deputies were able to rescue a suicidal man from a Canyon Country bridge.

Around 10:15 p.m. Thursday night, deputies responded to the Whites Canyon bridge, that overlooks the Santa Clara wash. Motorists had called 911 to report that a man was climbing the concrete wall of the bridge.

Two deputies approached the distraught man. A deputy immediately engaged the man in conversation, and learned that the man wanted to end his life over family problems. As the two deputies kept the man in conversation, two other deputies quietly approached. One of the approaching deputies quickly pulled him off the edge, and onto the sidewalk.
