LASD Traffic Detectives Investigating Circumstances of Fatal Traffic Collision In Lancaster

Traffic investigators from the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station are investigating the circumstances of a fatal traffic collision involving a pick-up truck and a motorcycle.

The collision occurred on Sunday, May, 19, 2019 at approximately 1:30 a.m., at the intersection of Avenue I and 15th Street East, in the City of Lancaster. Preliminary information gathered at the scene revealed a male Black adult motorcyclist was traveling westbound Avenue I, approaching the intersection of 15th Street East. A red pick-up truck, being driven by a male Hispanic adult, was traveling eastbound on Avenue I and made a left turn at the intersection of 15th Street East. The motorcyclist collided into the pick-up truck resulting in fatal injuries to the motorcyclist. Several citizens stopped their vehicles near the crashed vehicles and approached the motorcyclist in order to render medical aid. Another vehicle entered the intersection from westbound Avenue I and collided into the citizen’s stopped vehicle. This secondary collision resulted in a vehicle striking a female Hispanic adult pedestrian. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with major injuries. The investigation is ongoing and there is no further information available.
