Deputies respond to an assault and shooting that occurred at a residence in Hesperia
Deputies from the Hesperia Police Department responded to the report of an assault of an elderly man and a shooting that had occurred at a residence in the 17000 block of Adobe Street in Hesperia.
On Thursday, May 9, 2019, at approximately 3:35 am,Upon arrival, deputies were advised that a shooting had occurred when a resident in the home was awakened by the elderly homeowner calling out for help while being assaulted by Raymond Santana and Arlin Lamas.
The resident/reporting party came to the elderly man’s aid, a shooting occurred striking Santana and Lamas. Santana was pronounced deceased at the scene. Lamas was transported to a local area hospital where she was later pronounced deceased. Santana and Lamas did not live at the residence. The elderly adult male received multiple injuries during the assault but did not require medical attention. Detectives from the Specialized Investigations Division, Homicide Detail, responded to the scene to conduct the investigation. No arrests have been made; the report will be submitted to the District Attorney’s Office for review. No additional information is available for release.
