Road Construction Update For The Week of May 6 through 12 For The City Of Palmdale.

CITY OF PALMDALE ROAD CONSTRUCTION UPDATE FOR THE WEEK OF MAY 6 THROUGH MAY 12 , 2019. 

1 - Road closure on 9th Street East from Avenue Q-11 to Avenue Q-12 and Avenue Q-12 from 10th Street East to 9th Street East Avenue Q-12 and a 9th Street East will be closed to through traffic while the Courson West project reconstructs the existing street. There will be access provided for residents on Avenue Q-12 from 10th Street East. Please expect delays and follow detour signs. 2 - Eastbound Technology Drive from 5th Street West to the State Route 14 Antelope Valley Freeway overpass and Carriage Way from Auto Vista Drive to Technology Drive Intermittent lane and shoulder closures for landscape construction. 3 - Rancho Vista Boulevard (Avenue P) at the State Route 14 Antelope Valley Freeway bridge from 10th Street West to Country Club Lane Intermittent lane closures for potholing, conduit installation and repairs. Street Light Inspection City crews and contractors will be inspecting and rendering safe streetlight poles as quickly as possible. There are potential wiring issues with some streetlight poles that could result in people or animals receiving an electric shock. The City believes that approximately 1% of the current poles could have a wiring issue, but the degree of the problems can vary greatly. The City is asking residents to please stay away from streetlight poles, especially during rain events. This includes pets. For more information, call the public works department at 267-5300.
