Earlier today the California Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation posted pictures of the San Quentin State Prison executing chambers .
After Gov. Gavin Newsom announced plans to suspend the death penalty in California via executive order.
737 inmates on the California's death row make it the largest in the nation, no prisoner has been executed in the state since 2006.

CDCR is working with Governor Gavin Newsom to implement EO-N-09-19, including dismantling the execution chamber at San Quentin State Prison. The chamber was officially closed on March 13, 2019.
