Palmdale, CA- Advancing Communities Together (ACT) dba AV YouthBuild (AVYB) will host their Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Celebration Hope and Unity Block Party on January 19th, 2019 at Advancing Communities Together Community Center 38626 9th Street East, Palmdale, CA 93550 from 11am-2pm.
ACT is celebrating the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr with our upcoming Hope & Unity Block Party. Our goal is to share with our community members the many educational and community resources available to them within the Antelope Valley. With our event, we plan to inspire the members of the community with music, art and local fare. We will also hold activities for children and families that will speak to social responsibility and engagement in an effort to demonstrate hope and unity in our community. We’re driven to transform our community one block at a time!

About AV YOUTHBUILD:Antelope Valley YouthBuild is a youth and community development program that simultaneously addresses core issues facing low-income communities: housing, education, employment, crime prevention, leadership and community development. Antelope Valley YouthBuild is unique in offering an accredited high school diploma and hands-on occupational training in Construction, Wildland Fire Technology to low-income youth ages 16-24 while working toward their high school diplomas. Participants spend 6 to 24 months in the full-time program, dividing their time between construction and the YouthBuild academic program.
