Deputies Respond to False Emergency Calls

At approximately 11am Palmdale Station received a call from an unknown male stating there was a school shooting at Desert Willow Middle School. Deputies quickly responded and began securing the school. Deputies did not find any injured students/staff nor a possible suspect. Shortly after, we received a second call at Palmdale Aero Space Academy.

We treat every call serious and responded to the second active shooter call. Deputies again cleared a school and did not find any injured or suspect(s).

Detectives are investigating to locate the person who made the false emergency call and are seeking criminal charges.

Today was a team effort by all our station units who ran out the station as soon as they heard children's lives were in jeopardy. Our constant training was put to a test today and we know we are always ready for anything.

A special thanks to CHP LACO Fire who assisted us today.
