Press release from V. Jesse Smith Candidate for Mayor for the City of Palmdale
My grandmother instilled in me a principle that “a people without a vision shall perish.” Equally true is a city without a vision shall perish. It’s time for a change in Palmdale.
As your next Mayor, I have a vision for change in our city, which includes keeping crime down, supporting affordable housing, and creating a strong and vibrant economy.
My vision for change includes, but is not limited, to the following:
Youth: They are 40% of our population, but 100% of our future. Let’s build a state of the art youth facility that includes sport, play, academic achievement, training for career jobs, and leadership development;
Livable and sustainable jobs: Creation of manufacturing jobs for Palmdale residents to thrive, and not just survive; and support of our existing businesses;
Immigration Reform: Ensure our city does not target our immigrant community; support immigrants seeking a pathway to citizenship, and DACA students pursuing the American Dream.
Permanent re-opening of Palmdale Airport: A commitment to re-open our Palmdale Airport.
As Mayor, I bring with me leadership, integrity and accountability to this noble and servant position.
I ask for your vote on November 6, 2018. Vjessesmithforchange.com Vjessesmithformayor2018.com
