Magic Show to Kick off Palmdale City Library’s Summer Reading Program
PALMDALE – The Palmdale City Library will kick off its Summer Reading Program with “The California Joe Adventure Magic Show” on Saturday, June 2 at 1 pm at Poncitlán Square, 38315 9th St. East.
Sign-ups for the Summer Reading Program begin on June 2, and the program will run through July 27. Children and teens will be given logs to keep track of their timed reading for chances to win prizes. The Adult Summer Reading Program will feature a bingo card with activities and challenges that will put them in the running for some of their own prizes.
“This program is for all ages---kids, teens and adults,” said Youth Librarian Jamielee Beck. “This year, we’re focusing on travel and exploration, seeing where books can take you.”
Many of the prizes are made possible by the Friends of the Palmdale City Library.
“This is a great opportunity to read, and participate together as a family,” Beck said.
The Palmdale City Library is open seven days a week. Hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 10 am to 8 pm; Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm; and Sunday from 1 to 5 pm.
