Lancaster Station aware of posts circulating social media affecting QHHS & HHS. Detectives inves
Lancaster Sheriff’s Station is aware of multiple rumors circulating on the internet regarding threats to two local high schools.
The first message is of a possible threat to Quartz Hill High School. Detectives from our school unit immediately began investigating the threat and have located the individual who re-posted the message. A threat assessment was conducted and it has been discovered the post is an old post, relating back to a previously investigated incident from February. At this time, this post has been deemed a non-credible threat.
We are also aware of a second post, this one of a rumored threat to Highland High School. Detectives from our school unit have also located the individual who posted this message. While the individual claims this is only a rumor, Detectives are investigating every lead thoroughly. This investigation is still ongoing.
We thank every parent, faculty member and student that has made us aware of these posts. We continue to work hand in hand with our community to ensure we provide the safest learning environment for all of our students. Our station takes every single threat, comment and/or “rumor” seriously and will investigate each one thoroughly.
Let’s ensure we keep our Antelope Valley schools a safe place for our kids to learn and grow. Remember, if you see something, say something.
Lancaster Sheriff’s Station polices the City of Lancaster, Antelope Valley College in Lancaster, and the unincorporated communities of Antelope Acres, Lake Los Angeles, and Quartz Hill in the Antelope Valley.
