The Annual Cinco de Mayo Celebration This Weekend.


Saturday, May 5th 2018 Latinos Americanos en Accion will host its annual Cinco de Mayo Celebration, and this year the fiesta its even bigger and better. Expect live music, kid friendly games, business booths and live entertainment.

Cinco de Mayo commemorates Mexico's 1862 defeat over the French invasion of the state of Puebla, but in the U.S., it's become a more broad celebration of Mexican culture

Cinco de Mayo Celebration will once again fill the 170th Street East corridor in Lake Los Angeles with a colorful must see parade and local celebrities. .

The parade starts 10 a.m. Saturday and the Grand Marshall this year is Xavier Flores, a community activist, advocate and resident of the Antelope Valley for more than 20 years. " I'm very humble and honored to have been chosen this year as the Grand Marshall", said Xavier Flores.

There will also be live music on the main stage will spotlight Rubi La Pantera, performing on, and Carlos Dia, Mexican Folklor, Aztec Dancers and many more.

“It is an honor to participate in the 24th Annual Cinco de Mayo Parade & Festival as one of the masters of ceremonies. Sharing the roots and history from Mexico enriches the cultural mosaic of our society and highlights the cultural contributions of our Latino community. Thank you to Latinos en Accion & Sam Roman for making me part of the celebration!” said Patzy Ayala.

The parade will begin at 10:00 am on East Ave O and 170th St E and will run down 170th St until Lake Los Angeles Ave where there festivities will continue at Stephen Sorenson Park beginning at 12:30pm! For more info. please contact Sam Roman at 661.209.2047
