SCHEDULE OF EVENTS BY THE CITY OF PALMDALE

Thursday, February 1 – Coffee with a Cop – TBD, 9:30-10:30 am.

Friday, February 2 – Bilingual Storytime, Palmdale City Library, 10 am. Stories and songs in English and Spanish with Miss Maria. All ages.

Saturday, February 3 – Love Art: Design your own heart puzzle, Domenic Massari Park and Marie Kerr Park Community Buildings,9:30am – while supplies last. Does your child love to create things? Are you looking for more opportunities to create art? The Recreation and Culture Parks division will be supplying “lovely” art projects on each Saturday in February. Designed for children 5+, one project per child; these crafts are free to the public while supplies last.

Saturday, February 3 – Twice the Spice, featuring Frank Graves, Palmdale Playhouse, 8 pm. Experience the joy of a true performer who will take you on a musical journey and have you standing on your feet! Tickets: $15. Available at www.PalmdalePlayhouse.com

Sunday, February 4 – Retro Day Sundays!, Domenic Massari Park and Marie Kerr Park Community Buildings, 12 - 2pm. Bring your family and friends out to the park for some good old fashioned fun! Try your hand at some badminton, bocce or croquet! See park staff for details.

Monday, February 5 – PATH Assistance, Palmdale City Library, 1-3 pm. PATH (People Assisting the Homeless) will provide referral services to those who need it.

Monday, February 5 – Palmdale Works! Youth Job Academy provides free training on searching, applying for and retaining a first job. Session 2: Feb. 5, 7, 12, 14 and 21 Visit www.cityofpalmdale.org/engaged.

Tuesday, February 6 – Ask a Doctor, Palmdale City Library, 6:30 pm. Join us at Palmdale City Library for an opportunity to ask health related questions of local medical professionals.

Tuesday, February 6 - Housing Rights Legal Clinic with Neighborhood Legal Services, 9 am –5 pm at SAVES, 1002 E Ave Q-12. The NLS team provides free assistance to individuals and families dealing with fair housing, unsafe conditions, mobile home residency law, loan modification, fraud, consumer debt, Section 8 legal problems and landlord/ tenant problems. Walk-ins are welcome or call 1-800-433-6251to make an appointment or speak with an in-take advocate.

Tuesday, February 6 – Preschool Storytime, Palmdale City Library, 1 pm. The Library’s famous preschool storytime sessions with Miss Shay, now in a weekly afternoon session. Ages 3-5.

Tuesday, February 6– Public Art Community Forum, Legacy Commons for Active Seniors, 6 pm. Residents encouraged to provide input and learn more about Palmdale’s Public Art Master Plan.

Wednesday, February 7 – Midweek Movies, Palmdale City Library, 6 pm. Clue (1985) rated PG. Free admission, open to all ages

Wednesday, February 7 – Legacy Commons Advisory Board Meeting, 9:15 am, Legacy Commons for Active Seniors.

Wednesday, February 7 – Friends of the Library Meeting, Chimbole Cultural Center, 4 pm. The monthly meeting of the Friends of the Palmdale City Library, an organization devoted to helping support the Library.

Wednesday, February 7 – Baby & Toddler Storytime, Palmdale City Library, 9:15 and 10:15 am. The Library’s storytime sessions for Palmdale’s youngest residents with Miss Shay, now with two sessions each Wednesday. Ages 6-36 months.

Saturday, February 10 – Yappy Hour: Love Edition, Yellen Dog Park, 2-3 pm. Free, fun get together where four legged community members come to mingle. Humans bring your pooch to our “kissing booth,” and use the obstacle course at your leisure.

Saturday, February 10 – Perler Beads, Palmdale City Library, 1-3 pm. Afternoon of perler bead crafting. Ages 12-17.

Saturday, Feb. 24 - Season of Service - Spring Cleaning: Airpark Edition -

Joe Davies Heritage Airpark, 2001 East Ave. P, Palmdale. Time: 8 – 8:30 am registration; 8:30 am project begins. Join our dedicated Adopt-a-Plane groups in preparing the Airpark for another great season of visitors from around the world.

Tuesday, February 27 – Books and Barks, Palmdale City Library, 3:30-5 pm. Build your kids' reading skills by letting them read to friendly, non-judgmental dogs in one of our most popular events.
