City of Lancaster Joins with Lancaster JetHawks for Twentieth Anniversary Celebration

The City of Lancaster joined the Lancaster JetHawks to celebrate the JetHawks 20th anniversary season in Lancaster with the inaugural “20th Anniversary Monday” at The Hangar. In all, six “20th Anniversary Mondays” will be held throughout the year, featuring throwback ticket prices, special promotions, music, and more. During select Monday games the JetHawks, in partnership with the City of Lancaster, will be giving away nostalgic t-shirt jerseys. The shirts feature vintage JetHawk jersey styles, and pay homage to former JetHawks stars which have played at The Hangar over the last 20 years. On Monday, the first 500 fans in attendance received a t-shirt jersey featuring former JetHawks player and 2016 JetHawks manager Ramon Vazquez – whose son and daughter both threw out opening pitches before Monday night’s game. On May 16th, June 6th, and August 1st, the first 500 fans in attendance will receive t-shirt jerseys of former Stealth & Los Angeles Dodgers star Juan Pierre; former JetHawks & Arizona Diamondback star Brandon Webb; and 2016 Cy Young winner & current Houston Astros star pitcher Dallas Keuchel, respectively. Since the JetHawks’ first season in Lancaster in 1996, the team has won more than 1,000 games as well as two California League Championship Titles. Throughout the years, more than 100 current and former Major League baseball players have played for the JetHawks in Lancaster. “In celebrating 20 years in the Antelope Valley, we couldn’t ask for a better partner than the City of Lancaster,” said Tom Backemeyer, JetHawks Executive Vice-President, ‘We are excited to celebrate this historic anniversary with our fans all season long, and we look forward to another 20 years right here in Lancaster.” “Sports have this inherent ability to bring communities closer together. The Lancaster JetHawks have now been bringing Lancaster residents together for twenty years, not only providing great fun and entertainment, but also giving back to our community by getting involved in numerous charity events, community projects, service projects, and the like,” said Lancaster Mayor R.
