Lancaster Choice Energy to Launch New Smart Choice Revolution Campaign
The City of Lancaster’s new local energy provider, Lancaster Choice Energy (LCE), will launch the #SmartChoiceRevolution campaign. LCE, which gives customers the power to choose renewable energy at an affordable price, will be encouraging the community to become “Smart Choice Champions” by “opting-up” to the Smart Choice plan, which provides customers with energy from 100% renewable sources. “Lancaster Choice Energy is a prime example of how the City of Lancaster continues to work toward a more sustainable future,” said Mayor R. Rex Parris. “LCE is constantly creating opportunities for Lancaster businesses and residents to not only improve the City of Lancaster, but our planet as well.” The goals of the #SmartChoiceRevolution campaign are to: share energy saving tips and tricks with the community (in order to save energy and money); tell the story about Smart Choice; and explain how LCE is giving Lancaster residents the power to choose renewable energy. While LCE’s standard product, Clear Choice, offers 35% renewable energy, the Smart Choice rate plan offers customers the option of “opting-up” to 100% renewable energy content at an affordable price. The Smart Choice option is only an extra 33 cents per day for residential customers, or an additional 1.5 cents per kWh for business customers. Dubbed “Smart Choice Champions,” customers who opt-up will make a huge positive impact on the environment with one simple move. Additional incentives will be offered for businesses which select Smart Choice, including special marketing opportunities as well as exposure on LCE’s website. Everyone is invited to visit the LCE booth at the California Poppy Festival (held April 16 and 17 at Lancaster City Park) for energy savings tips and tricks. Those who choose to join the #SmartChoiceRevolution while at the Poppy Festival will be entered to win two tickets to see Paul Rodriquez at the Lancaster Performing Arts Center on Saturday May 21. “Further recognizing the need to conserve energy and do our part to protect the environment, we were the first private business to construct a solar system in the Antelope Valley,” said Tim and Tom Fuller of Hunter Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram, Hunter Alfa Romeo Fiat. “However, it wasn’t until Smart Choice became available that we were able to meet 100% of our energy requirements from renewable sources. We are pleased to now have control of how all the energy we use is produced.” For more information regarding LCE, billing, or opting up to 100% renewable energy via Smart Choice, visitwww.LancasterChoiceEnergy.com, call 661-723-6084, or stop by the LCE counter at Lancaster City Hall.
