KNIGHT KICKS OFF CONGRESSIONAL ART COMPETITION

(WASHINGTON, DC) –Rep. Steve Knight (CA-25) announced that the 2016 Congressional Art Competition is officially underway.

High school students in California’s 25thCongressional District are invited to submit their artwork for a chance to see it displayed in the United States Capitol.The Congressional Art Competition is an annual nation-wide arts competition for high schoolers sponsored by the U.S. House of Representatives. Students from the Simi, Santa Clarita, and Antelope Valleys have until April 29th to submit artwork.

The winner of this year’s Competition will receive complimentary airfare to Washington, D.C. for an unveiling ceremony this summer, where the artwork will be featured for an entire year.“I am thrilled for this opportunity to recognize and encourage the artistic talent in our community and across the nation,” said Congressman Knight.The competition is open to high school students that attend public or private schools, or are home schooled. The student must reside in California’s 25th Congressional District and be a U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident.

The winner will be announced on May 4th at a reception held with KHTS Hometown Station at FASTFRAME in Valencia."FASTFRAME is again pleased to host the Congressional Art Awards.
