City of Lancaster Weekly Road Closures through February 20, 2016
In an effort to improve our neighborhoods and city streets, the City of Lancaster conducts a variety of road construction projects which will ultimately benefit our citizens. While these construction zones typically restrict traffic flow for an interim period, the end results provide smoother roads and better infrastructure in various locations throughout Lancaster. The construction zones listed below are valid through February 20, 2016. • The BLVD Farmers Market is an opportunity for the community to gather and enjoy an offering of fresh produce and unique items in an open market atmosphere. The Market takes place every Thursday from 2 – 6 p.m. on Ehrlich/Elm Avenue, north of The BLVD. This area will be closed to traffic and parking from noon to 7 p.m. on Market days. In conjunction with the Farmers Market, the Children’s Center of the Antelope Valley hosts a free art workshop on the last Thursday of every month at the Lancaster Museum of Art and History (MOAH). • There are lane closures in the vicinity of Avenue I and 17th Street East due to the installation of pedestrian crossing improvements. • There are Westbound lane closures on Avenue L between Sierra Highway and 5th Street West due to underground utility improvements. • The City of Lancaster’s Third Annual Corporate Challenge will kick off with a Get Fit 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, February 20 from 7 – 10 a.m. The event will take place on Lancaster BLVD from Gadsden Avenue to Beech Avenue. Beech Avenue will be closed from The BLVD to Kettering Street. Fig Avenue will be closed from The BLVD to Milling Street.
